We are in Joplin, MO. Drove pretty much for 12 hours straight, only stopping to pee, gas up, and grab food for the road. We are stopping here for the night. The hotel we are in lost power three times in the first 15 minutes. o_O

We're going to stop in St Louis tomorrow to check out the arch, then power on until we settle in a suburb of Chicago

In Chicago, "isolated t-storms" can mean anything. Bring an umbrella, but don't sweat it yet. The weather can change between your hotel and downtown. Last week, a suburb slightly west and south of me got hammered, and the sky at my place didn't even get cloudy. It's a lake thing.
