I'm glad you decided to post this. It's much better to put Lydia & Lucas in the proper perspective and approach the heart of his breakdown discovery head-on. I like that you didn't have them jump into anything, too. Just recognize the significance of his hallucinations, acknowledge their feelings and agree to be there when the time is right. A very mature move for both of them, and appropriate with where he was at as a result of Mayfield, and where she was at waiting and wondering...No deflection at that time.

I totally am a sucker for the central statements that you slip into your fics like "That was the problem with House. He didn’t really fit in anywhere." I like how these phrases define his character and label him the very special individual that he is ( ... )

You've done really amazing things with this prompt. I love how you open the story by focussing on Cuddy, and how lonely she is (I guffawed over the line comparing making a cameo to running 'down to the Quik-Mart for a gallon of milk'), and how conflicted she feels about the fact that House has been institutionalized. And the way you show her unable to handle seeing House with another woman, and fleeing - it's a gentle reminder that House is not the only one who has consistently run away from his feelings ( ... )

Now, this is just simply perfect; House and Cuddy finally being honest about their feelings even if House is still in Mayfield. Another great work here especially since with this, we didn't have the Lucas fiasco we had to endure on Season 6. "Lobe" this. :)
