So you needn't have worried about writing April, because she's pretty spot on in this. As are Andy and Ben.

This was totally my favorite, though:

April turns on her heel and glares at him. “Don’t tell anyone I said that or I’ll tell Oren the trick to jimmying your bedroom window.”

Ben laughs. Then he stops laughing. “Wait, what?”

PERFECTION. April Ludgate: The perfect combination of apathy and meanness.

Wow, thank you so much. I was super, super intimidated by writing April because she's so distinct in the way she thinks and reacts and stuff. So thanks so much for saying she felt in-character.

Man, this show. It does so many things to me.

Oh god. Can you imagine waking up and seeing Oren in your room in the middle of the night? EEK.

“I don’t normally get involved because … I don’t care,” April says, and Ben knows enough now to know that’s not even almost the truth, “but you should go accidentally run into her and accidentally be creepishly turned on by how into whipped cream she is.”

This line is both touching (because April totally does care, we all know it) and hilarious (HEE, WHIPPED CREAM) and very, very April. You have her down magnificently.

This whole thing was sweet and funny and in-character and wonderful. There will be no forks thrown at you today. Penis-shaped pancakes all around!

Okay, it's very late and I'm extremely tired, so I'm going to have to come back and review this more thoroughly (because it deserves a more thorough review). But for right now I'm just going to say that this fic made my week. Seriously this is the fic I didn't even know I wanted.

I've read all your BBT fic, so I already knew how talented you were, and the moment I saw your name show up as the author I knew I was going to love this. But DAMN, I really love this. Your voice for April is so friggin perfect. And your internal monologue for Ben is really wonderful. I love how she's simultaneously enjoying making Ben's life hell and honestly, legitimately trying to help him because she cares. And I love that Andy was trying to come up with lyrics and Ben thought Leslie's hair was "professionally cute" (which is my new favorite phrase by the way) and rating chocolate love on a scale of one to the fat kid on Willy Wonka. And Oren! Oh Oren, how I love your random cameos.

And yeah, pretty much can our fandom highjack you now?

Wow, I've sat on this comment for awhile because I'm totally and completely flattered. I think I read all your Ben/Leslie stuff last weekend on a bus to NYC and it's just the greatest thing, as I'm sure you gathered from the ridiculous comments I left you. So far, this fandom seems ridiculously sweet (because it goes with a ridiculously sweet show, HOW COULD IT NOT BE?) and I think I will stay forever. I am the highjack-est of highjacked.

And yes, thanks so much for complimenting the fic. Writing these characters (particularly April) was really, really intimidating because writing comedy is definitely not in my wheelhouse, but I'm so, so glad that you think it passed muster.
