You people are infuriatingly dense.

Wherever the fuck all of you came from, we aren't there anymore. We're in purgatory for fuck's sake. Why are you trying to contort this bleak reality with the ... mindless social constructs of society on Earth? "Factions"? Politics? A god damn welcoming committee now, and whatever else Dent's got up his sleeve ( Read more... )

I'm pretty sure having elements of things from back home is how a lot of people here cope and adjust. And you don't know for sure if this is life or death or something in between. I mean, for all we know none of this is real and its all only a dream. Everything here is too unknown, too many variables and solutions to our questions.

But if a little anarchy includes overthrowing the gods and making this place our own, I wouldn't say that I'd completely object to that. As long as no one I care about got hurt in the process.

Alright, so let's pretend none of this is real. It's still different. It's a chance to make the world ... different and the idiots here are wasting it!

There's an idea, though. I'll give you that one. I have never toyed with gods before...

Yeah, I know. I've said that a few times now and no one's listened to me. Don't count on them listening to you, either. They don't want a second chance, most of them. They just want to get home. I'm still not even sure what I want while I'm here.

I'd say that I'd be able to, given I can heal from pretty much anything. But I'd be willing to bet the gods here can seal my ability. At this point, I wouldn't say that everyone in the city banded together are capable of taking on the gods. We're just not strong enough.

We need to become stronger.

They're stupid. Maybe we should just get rid of them, and keep the decent people alive.

Stronger? And I suppose you think your boyfriend Sylar or whatever can help with this?

But change is so frightening.

It's called sarcasm, my harlequin friend.

Change is a terrifying prospect to the average person; it's why they attempt to replicate what they know whenever dropped into a strange new place instead of striving for change.

People are aiming for the Robinson Crusoe experience, not the Lord of the Flies one.

Ah, yeah, and what I was engaging in was "banter". I suppose it was a bit of a stretch to assume you had experience with it, though, Jonny, since it usually requires that you have a couple friends. Or at the very least, y'know, human contact that's not shit-scared of you at all times.

Like I said to that girl up there, maybe the average people are fucking things up. Maybe the solution is to eliminate the average - and below average, o'course - and see where this society goes from there. But maybe that's a little extreme. Maybe I'm being too harsh. Still, it would most probably be fun to cause some mayhem in this place ... and it ain't the same without a little bloodshed, you know? :]

I liked Lord of the Flies better, myself.

How's the view from that soapbox of yours?

I thought that one was kind of clever this time around.

That's a clichéd line, Dent. And rather hypocritical coming from the likes of you.

I wouldn't say hypocritical, my soap box has a pretty good view, though it catches sight of a few land fills.

Maybe you should move on to a better one.

In favour of a societal progress, I think I can do without.
