I say follow what you think is right. Moving is difficult, and it does suck to lose all of your friends, but I know you, you'll make more, and it's not like the old ones are going to vanish. It's the other side of the state, not the moon. :)
know that everything will work out. that sometimes things do happen for a reason. and that if you have to move it wont be the end of the world.
new places aren't as hard to learn as people make them out. just dont freak out to bad if you get lost. getting lost is a great way to learn your way around. mapquest, although often takes you the long way around to get somewhere, is a handy tool. and keep the doors on your vehicle locked at all times.
which school do you think is better suited to your educational needs? do you think you could easily build more contacts in lexington? there are a few great churches there, including southland christian, which i'm quite fond of. as far as leaving friends, i can give no advice because i'm thinking of staying columbia for mine :) but i think that you just have to weigh your options and what's most important to you. if you think the education at UK is worth the strain on your BG friendships, then go for it. if you value your bonds with folks in BG more than you would the education at UK (especially considering that you'll also get a quality one at WKU--another thing to consider being the difference between the two), then i'd say it's kind of silly to go to UK just to make yourself try something new.
