I really like early Godard films. They're pretty pretentious and often contain long scenes of meaningless 'philosophic' rambling, but they also have this unique energy. Like a film was happening across the street and Godard rushed to pick up his camera and capture it. A joy to be filming, to be creating. And a certain sense of 'I could do that ( Read more... )

paper magizines are out. start a website like utube and myspace and limit the films to actual films with scripts, not just 14 year old girls dancing infront of webcams... although 14 year old girls dancing infront of webcams would probably make more money

I bought a copy of Kitchen Sink magazine today. It's really cool as an object, just this huge chunk of random interesting articles with a solid binding. I still like magazines as things you can hold.

If I wanted to start one, I'd probably have to go buy a copy of every film magazine available and figure out how to stand out. Not that I'm planning to anytime soon.
