Title: Falling Up

Summary: A breakup, in reverse. (Concept respectfully ripped off from the Martin Amis novel Time's Arrow.)

I'd forgotten how powerful Before the Weight Can Leave the Air" was; sparse and harshly unforgiving.

But this... you've turned it around completely and made something that both celebrates and mourns time's passing, and I just...

My first thought on reading the original story was that I wanted to undo the breakup, but I didn't think remix rules would let me take that much of a liberty... and then I thought of telling the story backward as a way of getting them back together. But then they'd still 'break up' and eventually unmeet each other. Still, it got me started.

Sorry you're sniffly, but I hope it's a good kind of sniffly! *squidges*

This is amazing writing. I don't know how you could do this.

I wouldn't call it heart-wrenching, though, more like thought-provoking.
