Agreed.
I was laying in bed the other day and nothing was on TV so I turned on MTV just to see if there was anything I could make fun of.....within the half hour of me watching, they played S.T.U.N., Story Of The Year, Brand New, and The Ataris in the background of commercials and some shows.
I also caught a Thursday video on there oncee...and the worst of all..."Buried A Lie" by Senses Fail was on there one day too. I threw my remote at the TV.
MTV pushes those dumbass preppy girls to go to the good shows now, also. I go see Fall Out Boy 3 months ago, and there's about 400 girls in Abercrombie skirts and trucker hats. Shoot me.

OMG.. well said. i'm tellin u--> it's sick... fall out boy- great band. suddenly, it's cool to listen to them, and be "punk?"?? um, i don't understand it all.. senses fail.. on mtv?! god, please say it's not true!!!! o lord.. not them too! =(

1.)You can't hate a bands for wanting to make money.
2.)The fact that their music has video playing behind it doesn't change the quality of the music.
3.)MTV is just doing what it does.
4.)It's kinda selfish to want to keep all that music to yourself.
5.)MTV does do a lot of good things too.

and how did all of you find out about these bands? I'm willing to bet that none of you people were the first to listen to any of them. oh yeah...I thought bitching about "preps" was an 8th grade thing...Let people like what they want.

None of us want the bands to not make money. We understand that. I mean, yeah, that stuff is way too good to keep underground, but it's nice to keep some music underground sometimes.
I'm glad you didn't really bet us for whether we discovered those bands on our own or not...because it's not like MTV helped me find out about them, if that was the point you were trying to prove. I fell in love with one band, went to some local shows, and it all went from there. That's all it took
