First, let me punch the air for haircut number 5. Not gonna lie, It's the hero shot I was hoping for in IWTB, but I think the 2012 movie (which we're still getting somewhere way back in the la-la-land corner of my brain) is a much more worthy cause.
I love how you wrote her almost unconscious transition there, btw.

I also really liked your Melissa.

"She looks like a goddamned folk singer, her and Mulder both." Heh. Well spotted.

Finally: I c wut u did thar, asking for a precise visual timeline on Scully's hair over on the TwoP forum. I was hoping for some light stuff, but, as usual, this was brilliant.

Helps that I'm a total sucker for the "5 times" genre. Thank you. This totally improved my day.

Hooray! So glad that you liked it. I enjoy 5 Times stories as well, both as a reader and a writer. They're a good way to weave together brain snippets.

TWOP left me hanging, yo. Had to do this shit on my own.

OH MY GAWD. WONDERFUL. Especially that last line. I so missed Scully's spirit and fight in the last movie. The ending of this was perfect.

Seriously, this is why you are one of my favorite writers.

Aw, thanks. I missed her spirit too. "Then let me talk to somebody there with some balls who can."

BADASS SCULLY PLEASE TO BE COMING BACK.

I find it distressing as well. And her ugly stupid suits with the bad tailoring and the shoulder pads and the flannel and...oy. How did the costume department fail to notice that they had an insanely hot woman on their hands? It is hard for me to even watch some of the early stuff because she looks so bad.

I am grateful for cancer hair too. Because I'm shallow, obv.

There should be a support group. I would join it.

I love this. I really love the look at poor baby Scully's hair trials, trying to figure out how to look like a grownup and be srs bzns, and Melissa being the teasing older sister. I love the dream-sequence headshaving, and how particularly intimate it is, and yet impossible for her to allow. And, of course, the end, because, ffs, Gillian Anderson looked lovely in that damn movie but it wasn't Scully's hair, and that shit's gotta get fixed. Anyway. I just love the whole thing.

I have such a tender spot for baby Scully because she's so desperately out of her league, but she has her little briefcase and her mauve lipstick and her tartans and she's so pleased with herself. It kills me.

Anyway, I obviously agree with you on all points, so let me just thank you for the very kind feedback.

I love this! This is the perfect piece for the anniversary of the Pilot - it reminds me of how much I love all the different things that Scully has been. The first one is very sweet and the last makes a kickass ending. And then, you know, all that stuff in between that hits it out of the park.

ZOMG!1!1!!

HOW DID I NOT REALIZE TODAY WAS THE ANNIVERSARY? This is serendipitous, I tell you what. I thank you so very hard for bringing this to my attention.

I'm so happy that you think I hit all the right notes of Scully Through The Years. She's a treasure.
