On the water/out of contact until Friday. But then, catching up time! I'm finally done with the majority of proposal defense nonsense and can actually talk on the phone.

One thing that is absolutely AWESOME about Florida is the way one's coworkers desperately try to give away sacks of fresh mangoes the way people in the Midwest give away zucchini.

Everglades bugs (doctor flies in particular) are possibly the most horrible creatures ever to grace the planet. I swear I'd be scratching myself with a cheese grater if I thought it would stop the itching long enough for me to fall asleep.

Today's been the sort of crappy day where everyone I care about seems far away in some way or another. It also seems like whenever I go someplace that used to be home, I'm more and more of a stranger. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? What's the solution?
