Ah. For the record, the precision of my measurements is to the nearest 0.1 mile and 10 feet, respectively (I told you 100 feet earlier but I suppose there's no reason I can't go down to 10, and that neatly yields four significant digits at the magnitudes of both of my goal numbers). It just so happened that this particular trip really did produce such even numbers. Well, the mileage is a bit of a guess (the error there is more like +/- 0.2 mile), since we didn't follow a fixed established trail, but the elevation gain really was extremely close to 2,000 feet. And for aesthetic reasons I chose not to include the .0 on the mileage, though I suppose technically I should have.
