Searching for the US Skins, I ended up watching Jersey Shore and Teen Mom 2. Even though I'm not in their demographic, both of the shows personally resonated with me. I guess something totally tacky can be successful if it has some emotional truth.

Even though last year is over, I'm jotting down that I saw In the Bedroom and Southland Tales this weekend on the small screen. I enjoyed them both. The only thing tying the two together is that Sarah Michelle Gellar reminded me of Marisa Tomei.

I saw Black Swan last night with my son. His highlight was being right about Winona Ryder when I was wrong. The overwrought tone is over the top. But I think it was intentional. I hope so, otherwise it could hurt the filmmakers' feelings that the close-to-capacity audience burst into laughter at times.
