She was -- not exactly attempting to cook. No, of course not. She had just retrieved a few pots and pans, filled some of them with water, and set one or two to boil.
Tea. She was making tea. For... the entire house.
Tea with rice in it.
But still, despite her perfectly innocent activity, and its perfectly innocent explanation, Natalia jumped a little when she heard someone else enter the kitchen behind her, and spun on her heel in such a way that the stove was neatly hidden from view.
Upon hearing his name called so suddenly, Guy couldn't help but stop dead in his tracks. When he found the source of the exclamation, he smiled. "Hey there, Natalia. Sorry if I startled you."
He continued into his kitchen, curious at the lack of maids and just what Natalia was doing in there... he already knew it was a double, of course, but the question still echoed in his mind: she's not cooking, is she? He inspected the pots and gave her a curious look.
"... Are you making soup?" he guessed. Please let it be right. What else would she need that seasoning by the stove for?
"It is your home; one should probably expect you at any moment," she replied, very earnestly. "So the fault lies with me, in this case. If nothing else, a queen should have steelier nerves."
Natalia blinked. Soup...? She turned to examine the stove. Did rice go in soup? Was this something else she had yet to learn about cooking?
It went against all of her instincts to reveal any kind of weakness to a man, but in this area...
Hearing Natalia take fault for something as insignificant as someone startling another person made Guy chuckle a little bit. "No need. And you're free to just act like yourself, or however you want. It's just me here anyway," said Guy honestly, with a smile. Though despite his good-nature, he couldn't help but worriedly check the sitting dishes and pots and desperately hope that Natalia's - the one he knew - counterpart was better at cooking than she was.
Her question was strange to him - up until he saw the rice, of course. He backpedaled just a hair and turned to her, nearly exasperated. "Um, Natalia, if you don't mind me asking..." He looked over the side of the pot with caution, as if a sentient rice monster would lash out over the sides. "... just what is it you are making, exactly?"
