Swiss bankers
Considering how Switzerland is reputed as a centre of banking excellence, it has a long way to go regarding personal banking. No direct debits (apparently), bank charges for just about everything and deposits needed for credit cards were bad enough, but apparently we can't convert Helen's account into a joint account; we have to open a new joint ( Read more... ) -
Swissland
Hokay.
We are now in Swissland. Arrived on Wednesday, officially here as of around 0830 this morning when I went to the Bureau des Étrangers or whatever it's called in order to register.
Good things thus far about the place:- Discovering that the cinemas here will sell you beer[1] to drink whilst watching the film.

Pack, pack, pack
Currently in the throes of packing up for the Grand Move to Swissland, so naturally have resorted to "urgent procrastination", as lzz put it last night. It's absolute chaos here with boxes everywhere - I'm convinced that our stuff is multiplying when I'm not looking. Still, I am getting there.
