Coming strictly from the perspective of girl-who-knows-nothing-about motorcycles, I like the blue.

You can modify anythings bars... check with Heli-bars - i got my replacement bars for my Superhawk from them. Raised me back and up about 1-2" - made a WORLD of difference on my back.

Of course - then I went to the cruiser ;)

were it me - I'd get the silver and black. You can always add the additional faring if you want to. Not as easy to take the faring off a bike that's already got it - without it looking, well, wrong.

Well after looking ver a bunch of bikes for 2 hours I really like the Yahama FZ6(the silver and Black). It has a good upright rider position which makes a world of diference when taking long rides, it has the R1 engine which gives it great low med and high performance. the exhaust raps under the seat and not out to the side where a passenger could burn themselves and has a good weight to it.

I agree it's easier to cloth a nakked bike then one that's not.. the do make a lower half crowl for it which I would most likely get.

I will most likely get the Silve and Black...

The other thing that I discovered is that there are a few companies out there that make adjustable height bars... so you can switch it out on the fly. Way helpful.

The catch with that underseat exhaust is that that passenger pillion will get hot as an MF'er... just swap that out first... if they're gonna be hot anyway, might as well have a good sound to go with it ... heh

What's the Z6 weigh?

dry weight is 423

fuel capacity is 5.1 gallions

It's suppose to have a great heat shield over the exhaust so the passenger doesnt get hot seat..

They are both pretty. Strictly for looks and nothing else, I'd say the naked one.

I will then say that which one is prettier is just about at the bottom of my priority list.

They are both Yamahas, and look to be roughly the same size. Have you actually ridden them, or just sat in the showroom? Which one feels better? Which one does the kind of riding you want to do better? Which one is easier to customize with whatever you want to put on it?

Well the nakked bike while I was there REALLY caught my eye. When I sat on it that won me over even more. I sat on a bunch of bikes that day, but this one was the best feel for me.

As for test ride, they dont let ya test ride them.. I have test rode the YFZ 600R(the blue bike) a friend of mine has one, it rides nice but if I had to ride it long distance my back would be hurting...

Looks like I will most likely be going with the FZ6(Silver and Black)

No test rides? I've never bought a new bike, but that seems like a lot of money to have never ridden it at all. Is that industry standard practice? If it is, I need to make friends with someone who owns a Fat Boy in the not too distant future since I already know people with a low rider and a heritage softail classic.

Find another dealer if you have to, because it would be a cardinal sin to purchase a bike without a test ride around the parking lot if nothing else. There is no way you can tell how a bike will feel just by sitting on it, and they know that. Any dealer with a no test ride policy is not acting in the best of customer interests.

Now, since you're not interested in carving up backroads, and since you can add easier than take away, my vote goes for the FZ6, although personally I think you should get the Royal Star Tour Deluxe...
