I was randomly wandering the halls of LJ and came across this fic. I read it straight through from start to finish. It is fantastic I don't think I have ever seen the Vampire family dynamic handled so well. A brilliant mixture of pain and pleasure that I think represents it completely. I'm normally a mad Spander only fan, Angel is normally not a character I read but this transcends all pairing preference(although you have Spander mentioned in this).
New reader? Yay! Thanks for reading and for pimping.
Also, stoked that I could pull you from your OTP and get you to read and enjoy a little Angelus for a bit. The bit about the vampire family being represented well just frosts my cookies! Thanks!
Mmmm, just one thing! I love your icon. Would it be possible to use it? Credits and stuff to whoever/you. I need some thing for my mood(sexy) and I think that fits the bill perfectly, makes me think of honey and ice cream! *purrs*
Yeah, it's shareable. kornpeep made it, so you can credit her. I LOVE this icon. So simple and yet it's ALL there. Everything you want to know about Xander:
The sexy eyes, the grin, the dimples, and the head tilt. Yah. guh.
iieeeee! well you managed to shock and surprise me lol loved it, absolutely adored it the cordy thing, willow thing.. just guh.. wow and poor poor giles achingly perfect, alla it *sigh* its over though? *pouts*
Shock and surprise? How so? *is curious as to what you expected*
The Cordy thing I was really nervous about. I didn't want to be over the top, but it had to be harsh to really move Xander to action. The Willow thing? That made me cry as I wrote it, and again when I read it back. I hope it came off as poignant and not too sappy.
And Giles? He is a completely different character than canon S4 Giles. He's not had Buffy with him for the last three years, so he's not libel to be as strong or confident at he was. And he knew he could do nothing against the three of them. It broke my heart when he closed the door and cried, but it was the only thing he could do.
I'm so glad you liked this so much, really. You're fb was part of what kept the story going so much. You were always encouraging, and guessing and pushing ideas into my head. Thanks so much.
lol i have no idea why i was so surprised.. the way the last chapter ended, that angelus hadn't meant it, that he killed willow *gasp*.. don't get me wrong, it was all perfect i just wasn't expecting it lol n yeah, the willow scene and giles part was so achey and hurty i did! i did love this story soo much.. didn't give an ounce of feedback it didn't deserve.. loved every moment *happy sighs*
Oh my dear, this was just lovely. A very satisfying and pretty ending to a wild, painful, sexy ride. I was so worried that Xander was going to run and Angelus was going to be pissed and then bad things would happen. But of course, Angelus had a plan. He's so evil.
Thank you so much for sharing this great piece with us. It was truly a treat.
Yeah, Angelus may have been a little slow on the uptake, but he figured our boy out. I'm happy the ending fit with the rest of the fic. I had initially planned something different, but everytime I tried it, it just didn't work. This worked for me. I'm amazed and happy it worked for everyone else too.
I really loved this story. I particularly loved that you went for the hard ending. It would have been so easy to vamp Willow and pretend everything was fluffy bunnies. It was so much deeper to have Xander give her that hard mercy. I also love that as well as Angelus thinks he knows him he still miscalculates. He didn't expect Xander to stop Giles letting him in. Spike is such an interesting tie between the two, way more humanity that Angelus but less than Xander. Beautiful job.
I initially planned for him to vamp Willow, then kill Angelus and Spike, but no go. None of the scenarios worked. *blech* And what I did do? Just flowed out from my wittle fingers. That moment that Willow's head drops backjust hits me. I gotta hand it to my muse there; she really kicked booty, and I am just her instrument on earth.
I'm glad you liked that Xander constantly surprises Angelus. From the first encounter with the kiss to Xander not letting Giles invite him in, Xander was a surprise to me too.
Thanks so much for your comments throughout the whole story. They really kept me in the game and focused on telling this story. *hugs you*
Didn't mean to leave ya hanging. The computers at the library shut down automatically when you're time's up, and it was getting close to closing so I couldn't get back on. And I was 90% done when it shut down, too.
I was not a happy camper.
Angelus and Spike stalked the streets of Sunnydale, shadows passing in the cones of amber light from the streetlights. They were hunting, but not for food.
“Do you think he’s left yet?” Spike spoke the question low, not wanting to give away thier presence.
“Oh yeah. He’s gone. I made sure he felt he had to leave.”
Cunniving bastard.
Spike arrived in the courtyard with a wicked grin, dragging a limp and bleeding Willow. “This what you wanted me to bring, Angelus?” He stood her up next to Angelus, who touched her face with a tenderness that belied any intention Xander assumed he had for her

Hey. I only killed off three characters: Buffy, Cordelia, and Willow. Umm, now that I write it, I see that I just UTTERLY destroyed Joss' feminist icons.....*smacks self* Bad Chelle! NO biscuit!
Write you and tell you how great you are? I'll tell you how much you suck! LOTS! You're mean, dude. Meaner than cat-dirt.
*evil wicked grin* Yes, I'm mean. Meaner than cat-dirt. But, and don't lie here, you LIKE me that way. teehee. But did't I kill them so beautifully???
And how can you say you don't like me anymore? *pouts*
