Fade in, start the scene...enter (beautiful) girl....

I'm realizing that everything and every person in my life has a cinematic parallel. Maybe because movies are all I see and talk about everyday at work, but there it is. I can't decide if that makes all of the plot lines and characters in my own life cliche and predictable, or if movies really are that well crafted to real emotions. Hm ( Read more... )

My friend Stephen and I were talking the other night on the way back to my house after that scintillating religious talk we had at the teap shop. And he always says, "Do what makes you happy."

I said, "Do what makes you happy as long as it doesn't conflict with another person's happiness, or at least in a way that benefits both parties."

And he said, "No. Do what makes you happy. If you decided that coming out of the closet and telling your friends and family that you're gay will make you happy, but it makes your Dad miserable. Then he's going to do everything he can to make you feel miserable. No one benefits. So do what you feel makes you happy, and don't let the reactions or outcomes of others affect the way you feel."

Do whatever makes you happy Felicia. That's what I want to see. Just stay kung-fu cool.

It's an awesome outlook to view people as inherently good as we all have a conscience and we all have feelings. Inversely, however, people also have traits of desire and vengeance, which, in turn, breeds the selfish and the mean. Even if for a moment in time, we're all good and we're all evil.

I know the feeling of putting others in front of myself with an extreme kinship to how you seem to feel and I agree that YOU should be the boss of your life. You damn well deserve it. However, I do believe that some people exist solely to assist others and/or be an example. A world of leaders and no followers would be a world of chaos and anger... (Moreso than we already have.)

Follow your happiness, Felicia.
