Lord, I haven't been this excited about term since...well, since I was a frosh and didn't know better. I'm not sure it's healthy, at my age. I might have a heart attack, or apoplexy, or rheumatism, or something ( Read more... )

Do you know who you have for Junior Lab yet? I personally found first semester to be just fine; I just wish I'd realized that 95+'s on all of the papers wasn't enough to make an A (be sure to read the grade breakdown carefully). Second semester sucked, but that was mostly due to getting only crap labs instead of the cool ones. Well, that and the lack of cool ones. Who am I kidding? Junior Lab sucks. But at least sometime in your future you won't be a year into grad school and have other people making fun of you because you have never given a presentation or had to use LaTeX ...

So ... who's going to get painted orange? :)

I have either Yamamoto or Formaggio. I haven't heard horrible things (or, actually, any things) about either of them, so..

And the orange paint is for wooing my lab partner, of course. Today I went all *eyebrows* 'So, you wanna be my junior lab partner?' *eyebrows* at various hapless people eating free physics pizza, but NONE of them were juniors. Do '08's not eat pizza? What is wrong with them? But clearly it was just the lack of orange paint. Better luck on Thursday!

woe, i was totally going to eat the free physics pizza, but they stole more of my teeth today and so i went to sleep instead. yamamoto's ridiculously chill and mellow, as jlab profs go, which is good for grades; i don't know anything about the other dude.

so, jlab was hella hard, but...i like futzing with real things, not equations. i actually kindof liked jlab, or at least, i liked it enough to get through it without dying. i didn't find it to be unreasonably hard, either. i...would be wary of not having a partner yet, but i might know people in that same boat. also, beware morning lab sessions.
