The COMPLETE Egg Donation Skivvy Pt. 1 (behind a cut)

Jan 23, 2008 15:35

This is part one, because I don't want my fingers to fall off. There's a lot to describe! By the way, after a month of trying to figure out how to only post this to the folks that want to read it, I realized I can just put it behind a cut! Duh.

Ok, so here is the way of egg donation, in all it's sticky, needly, LONG glory. As always, read at your own risk. )

By the way, forgive me if this post sounded calculating. It's just that it's embarassing to describe the sappy "Awwwww" feeling of helping a couple who can't conceive, and knowing there are happy little blonde kids out there who's parents worked Really hard to get them. So I skipped that part :)

i think you're wonderful. i couldn't do this. but i think you're wonderful :)

also! do they live in the area? do you get to see pix of them? that's prolly a no no. i often wonder about that whole "oh crap we're twins and we got married" issue that happens occasionally with adoption.

do you plan on having scrodlings of your own?

I AM A CURIOUS GIRL!!

LOL!

No, I don't have any personal info about the couple I'm working with, and certainly not about the babies. I'm actually not SUPPOSED to know whether the procedure was even sucessful, but my nurse has known me for long enough that she trusts me. So Yay!

Yes, someday...

I'm glad you're a curious girl! You rock!

I totally want to do this, I'm pretty sure I'll come and and they'll look at my health/history and be like "Ahahaha, no."
marfans syndrom, high blood presure, ovarian cancer all run my my family
then on top of that i'm horribly out of shape with herpes and no perioid.

They'd just laugh.

Aww! Well, if it helps, my family has had a few cancer patients in it, and it didn't disqualify me. The no period thing though, 'depending on the cause, could be a serious problem. (A health problem for you, I mean!) If you know what it's from, though, I won't worry.

i'm tryingot find time to empty all the medical knowledge in the world out of my mom's head. She doesn't even know her blood type, let alone mine, and that's like question one.

Oh, also, there were a couple of things I didn't know about my family history (who keeps a perfect medical history of all their relatives!?) and it wasn't a big deal. If it was necessary, they'd tell me, and I'd do my best to find out. Some things weren't absolutely vital.
