I've been MIA--back to back to back books have been keeping me busy in my new office. Well, it's several months old, but it's so nice to have a quiet place to write that isn't in the family room!  Bonus--the kids are happy I have some of my creepy stuff out of sight. I have a "Do not disturb" sign on the door, but that is widely ignored.

I turned in The Shape Shifter's Curse a few hours ago. I'd finished it last week, but I wanted to let it sit for a couple of days and then go through it all again. I'm exhausted. This was a hard book to write. I usually write a book straight through. When one chapter ends I know just where to start the next. This time I struggled, stared at pages ( Read more... )

My editor just emailed me to say I got a "terrific" review from School Library Journal. She only sent me a snippet so I'll have to wait for her to mail me the whole review, but here's what she sent--

So I'm finishing a book up. It's been the hardest book to write thus far in my career and I've been wondering why.

I love the characters, love the plot--so why is it taking soooooo much longer than all of the rest?
