T minus 24 hours...

I’m sitting in Panera St. Louis Bread Company. It’s 2:25 PM. I’ve been here since 10:45 AM. I’m on my third (medium) cup of coffee. I have no cigarettes, as I smoked them all last night, and I will not have any until Andy picks me up around 5:00. Until about ten minutes ago, I’ve been pretty productive, but I kind of feel like I’m at my wit’s ( Read more... )

I consider it a major victory that I have not once left the house without pants on this week.

Count your victories. Especially the major ones!

Ok, now stop studying. No, really. You know it already, and you won't get anything new from the next 24 hours.

Study plan: stop when Andy picks you up. Tomorrow morning, sleep in (make sure you have a good night sleep!) and review what you know, without trying to learn anything new.

If you're studying now, you'll pass. Even if you don't get the top grade, you'll do fine, if you don't freak out too much.

And tomorrow, just write what you know, and let the prof. know you know it. good luck.

Everty exam gave me intestinal distress, and I did well. jawsoflife December 8 2005, 00:49:30 UTC
Okay, yeah, I wasn't kidding when I said exams sucked, but you'll be fine. Even into the end of my third year, I walked in feeling like I didn't know enough. But you do know enough, and you will.

Once you start looking over the exam, you'll realize that you actually DO know most of the stuff, and the fact that you actually CAN answer the question will give you more than enough energy to get through.

Oh, and if your torts prof is anything like mine was (discount this if you know better), you'll do well to go wider rather than deeper. Don't get prose-y, just nail down all the potential causes of action (watch out for emotional distress, including NIED - those always felt tenuous to me but profs love to see it), their elements, a sentence on how the facts could fit and move on. Pretend you're a PI attorney trying like hell to get ANYTHING to stick, and don't discount any potential basis for a claim, even if it seems like a shitty one.
