Because I do love the non-Potter fans on my f-list, and interesting things have been happening.
On Friday night I burnt my knuckles badly while cutting a hot pizza. The scars are really unique. Later, after a regimen of cold water, Neosporin, and Planet of the Apes band-aids, I took my brother to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which was very weird, and much better than it looked in the trailer. It was more faithful to the book than the previous version, even with a modified ending. I do have to say that whoever cast Christopher Lee as a dentist was on crack. That man has the worst teeth in Hollywood.
The ceiling in my office has been dripping for several days, filling my trash can repeatedly, it is quite disgusting. The office next to me is drenched. I'm putting plastic over my computer every night, so the electronics are safe, and more plastic goes over the paper files. The dripping is annoying though.
I wrote a lot over the weekend, almost 7,000 words, on a new fic that may or may not go anywhere. What delineates speculative fiction from fantasy, if there's no magic and little science?
There's bacon in my fridge now--but not for long! Oh no, not for long! *hugs bacon*
My brother watched almost nothing but superhero movies through his whole visit: X-Men, Spiderman, the Incredibles. That's my boy. He also made some progress on the latchhook rug he keeps in my apartment; I'm going to put it in my kitchen when he's done, which should be about 2008. He can really fly on the latchhookin', but that's a mighty big rug.
I read the paper on the radio Thursday night, with a competent leader, and it went very well. He prepped the articles ahead of time, which was nice. I got the horoscopes again, lucky me, and also a lot of sports-related articles with names I don't know. Fun.
tahmthelame, do find out when you can visit me!
