My Only Pre-HP Post

Okay folks, this is going to be my only Harry Potter post before Deathly Hallows comes out.

I've been kicking around this idea for a while, and finally think I know how to do it and still keep spoiler-free. Therefore: I hereby declare this post to be the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Hall of Prophecy. Post in the comments your predictions ( Read more... )

My predictions:

Harry lives. Voldie dies. Snape dies. Wormtail has got to fulfill that wizarding debt and save Harry's life. Neville gets to be a big hero. Slughorn does not turn out to be a villain. Percy dies, but dies doing something heroic, although he may never reconcile with his parents. (My personal prediction is that he'll go down trying to defend the Ministry from a second Death Eater invasion.) All the rest of the Weasleys live.

Ollivander is missing, and I wouldn't be surprised if he was making Voldie a new wand that didn't clash with Harry's.

Based on the book covers, it looks like Harry and the trio get Portkeyed to Norbert's lair.

Ron's chances of death are 50%. He might have a false death to push the readers' anxiety to the limit. Snape's chances of death are 100%. The good guys win even though Harry still hasn't approached his potential as a wizard. The book doesn't meet the standards of the first half of the series, but it's still decent.

Snape will turn out to be a good guy.

Dumbledore will not turn out to be dead.

Ron and Hermione will further develop their relationship.

There will be a bit of redemption for Draco Malfoy.

Cho is a character created to give Harry a love interest no one particularly cares about much. She has no defining characteristics. Either Harry will hook up with someone a bit more interesting (Luna?) or he will die (and be with his family). On the 3% chance one of these things does not happen, his family will come back to life in an incredibly cheesy manner.

Okay, I'll play:

Snape was a good-ish guy all along. He dies. Dumbledore stays dead. Harry lives. At least one Dursley dies. One of the following dies: Hermione, Ron, Ginny, one or both twins, and the outlook is REALLY not so good for Hagrid. Hermione and Ron snuggle up. Voldemort is destroyed, but we are not left with the feeling that all is right in the world because of it -- ending will be bittersweet, slightly ominous. Hogwarts itself. will sustain some serious damage.

Think that's all I got for now.

Neville kills Voldemort and becomes the new hero, Petunia Dursley does something useful, Snape's a good guy but dies, Draco almost is redeemed but blows it at the last second, Harry has some kind of near-death experience in which his parents and Sirius encourage him, Fred and George provide the Thingamajig That Saves The Day.
