What I did on Potter Release Day: paid some bills, mailed CDs to
jkacz, bought groceries, dropped off the wedding video to convert to DVD, picked up some Swiffer pads, called my folks, tried to broil a steak and caught my oven on fire. So, same old.
HP:DH Chapters 13-18
I don't have much to say about these chapters other than to note that they're bleak in an unprecedented way, and I can't really see things brightening anytime soon. I can't say I'm actually enjoying things as they stand, although they're very interesting, and I'm having trouble seeing just where things are going to go from here, which is presumably the point. It's weird; usually these places in the narrative are filled in with schoolwork and Quidditch, proven time-killers to pick up the slack before the big June showdown, but now that there's no particular reason that it has to take place in June, I find myself wishing that there wasn't quite so much "and then they did this for another six weeks, and then...." Particularly since the "they did this" translates to "they sat around moping and angry and not getting anywhere, and then tragedy struck, and then they did it some more."
Onward!
