So... is this movie supposed to have anything to do with the book? Besides sharing a few names? I mean, I only read the book once, and... well.

Yeah, unfortunately they're definitely promoting it as a book tie-in. Which is ridiculous, because aside from the fact that there IS a character named "Max" and they do talk about "Signs," that trailor could be a completely different story and we'd never know.

So, when they come crashing out of the bar filled with people, and then moments later go flying back in...

... where did all the people go?

I mean, I know that's hardly the most critical flaw in this film, but I'm sort of curious all the same.

I think it's signfying that they're moving through time - like, in the past there were people there, and then in the future they're not there. Right? That makes the scene make sense, right? Right??
