The Hunger Games, Suzanne Collins
I was really reluctant to read this book because the summary sounded like a watered down version of Battle Royale. And in some ways, it is, but it's also better than BR in a lot of ways. The characters are better developed, and the world-building is much more intensive. THANK YOU LIZ.

Still staying on schedule for the read 100 books (kind of amazing, really) with Practical Demonkeeping by Christopher Moore and The Iron Queen by Julie Kagawa. Right now I'm reading Thirteen Orphans by Jane Lindskold with Sage (we're still early in the book, if anyone wants to join!) and A Beautiful Blue Death by Charles Finch.
