THANKS BE TO GOD. I finally trudged through two books who were seriously holding up this train. The Emperor of All Maladies by Siddhartha Mukherjee and The Passage by Justin Cronin. Both are good books, though Cronin was the one with serious verbal diarrhea. Dr Mukherjee's book is about cancer, which isn't exactly a fun subject to read about, but ( Read more... )

Oh I was thinking of reading the Mukherjee...glad to know he wasn't afflicted by verbal diarrhea.

It's a really good book, well-written and interesting. It's just not a fast read, since you basically read a section and put it down so you can digest everything you've just read. I think the actual book itself is only 500 pages (with 150 page of bibliography).
