Hm.

Title: Of Creampuffs and an Oven.

And if you want it more specific: MaLoki, must have Fenrir and Ecc-chan.

oh man. that was a terrible fic, though you wouldn't be able to tell from the title. i had to play up fenrir's father complex, you see, to explain his motivations, and let's not even go into how painful it was to write about the muffled, increasingly faint cries of punyan! that came from the general direction of the kitchen.

and of course what made it worse was the whole Loki picked up one of the creampuffs, smiling indulgently at his son. "Thank you, Fenrir. Did Yamino-kun help you bake these?"

Fenrir merely grinned, his teeth catching the light in a manner that would have been ominous if he had been in his true form. bit.

XD Punyaan cream puffs? Oh my. Are they fluffy? Chewy? Make random sounds of distress when you bite into them? Drink your tea?

I don't intend to open up this meme thing on my lj, but you may request one of me, in return for punyaan cream puffs the utter amusement and love your comments/excerpt is.

...i think the idea of tea-drinking creampuffs is even more horrifying than creampuffs that squeak when bitten into. but in any case the idea of punyan creampuffs makes me sad. ._.

and whee! um: pmk, tea for two? ^_^;;

i didn't think i'd ever write an epic fusionfic, let alone an epic romance fusionfic, but ah well. it was hard to convey that utgard-loki was actually ginko!utgardloki, so after the long childhood flashback i kind of gave up, though i did keep in the reminders of his one-eyed-ness. i think my favourite parts were those without the mushi, though. like:

The punyan didn't seem to be floating so much as drooping in midair. It was making low mournful noises to itself; Utgard Loki stared at it for a while, tapping the ash off his cigarette, before turning his attention back to his guest.

Loki grinned sheepishly. "I think you understand the problem. I can see mushi, yes, but I'm not a proper mushishi like you--"

"This is not," Utgard Loki said shortly, "the sort of thing I deal with."

( also. does this mean you are watching mushishi! *_* )

Definitely wasn't expecting to see romance out of you, but it was a good surprise. Though the most memorable part, I find, was the strangely cute yet horrifying scene when the poor punyan encountered the mushi...

(Heh. Just started, seen a few episodes.)

interspecies romance tends to be 'cute yet horrifying', i think. still, i consider the ending quite a happily-ever-after one, even if utgard loki prolly didn't appreciate both loki and the mushi-punyan offspring moving into his house.

( yay! i hope it is worth your while. )

Title: requiem for a dream

Fandom: maloki

Characters: Utgard-loki, Yamino, Odin

ambientlight February 24 2006, 06:41:29 UTC
oh, that was an incredibly pretentious fic. :\\\ it was hard to write about these three without loki actually appearing, and the quasi-yamino/odin scene killed me a bit -- i mean, Yamino remembers Odin as cruel, yes, but not quite like this, not a personal cruelty. But the result is the same: his rough hands, a rejection, something almost like falling. The difference is that Yamino is left in the coldness of an empty house, not icy waters; the similarity that he is alone. -- but i did have fun with the uto-loki dream sequence in which odin appeared. especially how both of them saw loki, although i think i took the whole point about paleness and colours a bit too far.

and there was the bit with yamino and utgard-loki that inevitably ended up a bit loki/yamino-ish, despite my best intentions: It is not even that they are the same if Yamino closes his eyes; snakes are sensitive to smell and taste, and Utgard Loki is autumn to Loki's bright-eyed, laughing summer --

and in conclusion, ._.

I thought it was very well-done, especially the description of Uto-loki and Odin facing each other separated by only a "shimmering veil of many colours", and the imagery of their hair.

But the result is the same: his rough hands, a rejection, something almost like falling. The difference is that Yamino is left in the coldness of an empty house, not icy waters; the similarity that he is alone.

I cannot fangirl this part enough; it is almost on par with the epic prologue of Yamino's actual banishment <3 <3 <3

inevitably ended up a bit loki/yamino-ish

Was actually more surprising that despite Yamino being fully aware of the identity of the person in his dream, he was still able to, ahem, perform in an appropriate manner.

thankyouthankyou for the impressive summary! and the excerpts make me want to see more. perhaps this might help?

you are too kind especially since most of this fic does not exist.

Was actually more surprising that despite Yamino being fully aware of the identity of the person in his dream, he was still able to, ahem, perform in an appropriate manner.
asdjlk;ad;s i-- i write ambiguously-worded fic for a reason! just because all the vagueness sounds a bit... well... .____.

you're welcome! ^_^;; i think these fic are all best left unwritten, though, both for my sake and that of others. :x but thank you for the mp3 -- i have bits of the soundtrack, and it really is very good dundundunDUN music. ^_^

oh, that fic. :\ i am particularly terrible at writing narugami, so i'm not sure it worked well at all; i prolly enjoyed writing it more than i did re-reading it afterwards, and it's not even like i'm that fond of writing. i mean, take this part:

Narugami looked shocked and outraged, but in a suitably righteous manner. "You mean that Mjollnir is -- infected with some sort of creepy buglike thing?"

"Ah," Ginko said. "No. This bokken-- this 'Mjollnir' is a result of the mushi. It doesn't actually talk to you, you see ( ... )

... i've decided that i hate this meme for being such a tease; it's like loki, who looks good but then never puts out. well, i did sort of -- nicely force you into writing that fic, so no wonder it didn't go so well? :/ i'm sorry, though i did really appeciate how much you worked in the mythcanon? thought it was particularly inspired of you to have the 'ginko' mushi originate from urd's well, &c. plus it had narugami/mjollnir, though it was really heartbreaking at the end (WHY DID YOU DO THAT, WHY) for that reason.

(:D! thank you for writing this. the last line slays.)

perhaps i should say your benevolent dictatorship re: ignoring the common vote. we could form an uprising if you keep doing that you know.

ambientlight February 24 2006, 05:59:25 UTC
oh, i know. but surely that is half the fun, the cruelty of it all? no, it's okay, i just wish it'd gone better. should have left out the scene with narugami attempting to fight off those serpentine mushi, for example, because i can't write action to save my life. :x

( you're very welcome. i just hope the rest of it didn't kill too badly with its mediocrity! perhaps this meme should be changed to a 'fic that never existed' meme, and one could instead write ffn-style stuff. x_x;; )

ah, that i can accept. and hey, i'm a product of my times; you can't blame me for growing up with a strong tradition of benign autocracy. besides, you couldn't overthrow me! :o
