My dad catalogs his movies.  He used to by hand, but then when we got a computer and I was ok enough with typing, he paid me $25 to type it up - 25 single space pages later and I was done.   Every so often he'd throw me a couple of bucks to add in what he'd gotten during the year. That was before DVDs, of which he now has hundreds and I don't know ( Read more... )

Linux has an application called Alexandria, which does the same thing. :) I do exist on librarything.com, but I'm not invested enough to spend money on it. So I tend to keep my stuff catalogued on Alexandria, and upload it to my storage space. http://nbtsc.org/~ftmichael/warehouse/My%20Library

Jeremie, you're my new favorite person for telling me this. I currently use a database program called Comic Collector Live for organizing my hundreds of comic books, but now I can start on my hundreds of regular books! SQUEEEEEE!

I too have dreamt of organizing my bookshelves by LC call numbers. You rule.

It's amazing, is it not? I signed up as AmbiguouslyMe. You can apparent 'watch-list' other users. I don't know what that actually means, but I assume its probably like friending.
