It amazes me how unprepared people were. It's ten inches of snow, it's not a blizzard! And it's Massachusetts, not, you know, Alabama or some such.

I know! The steps of Widener library were awful. When I headed in the storm was just starting, no pre-emptive anything on the stairs. There was a pile of sand at the base, I assume because things usually puddle there, but, uh, snow hitting steps and being walked on is going to quickly become 'omg, sheet of glass staircase.' Which is what it was when I left two hours later and someone was just showing up to salt.

WTF Harvard. I thought you were smart peoples...
