Well my conscientious little southern slacker this tends to lend credence to the old adage that the only difference between a Yankee and a moron is the Mason-Dixon line as you are apparently unaware that North Carolina lacks jurisdiction over most of the other United States and when I say "most" I mean in fact the other 49 but I am just pleased as Pilate that you think a domestic restraining order and a civil protection order are the same thing because now all I have to do is get a time machine and take you back seven years so that you can earn your law degree and then go on to represent me in this matter but on second thought perhaps it might be a simpler matter to just stay here and get on with the never-ending task of spreading the Gospel to sinners like you but thanks for the well-meaning albeit slow-witted advice anyway. Amen.

Don’t you understand that if abortion was outlawed, it would drive people to get less sanitary abortions, which would in turn lead to more deaths than it is causing right now. You can’t set laws to change social policy this is why prohibition failed and why the drug war is failing. I can never understand you people, why do you feel the need to control other people’s lives. Worry about your own life and allow your higher power to worry about the rest.

I'm pro-choice, but I just have to tell you that the argument that a ban on abortion would lead to dangerous "back-alley abortions" is total crap. Having worked with Planned Parenthood several times during election years to get the word out, I can tell you there are tens of thousands of doctors and nurse practitioners willing to ignore any such ban. Also, it's not like all the equipment would be destroyed. Abortion equipment would still be medically necessary. So if you wanted an abortion, I guarantee you Planned Parenthood (which would continue to operate as a birth control and counselling clinic) would be able to direct you to a safe, sterile environment.
