If I could afford to move, I'd consider it. Although I don't know how I'd do on the East Coast: furthest east I've ever been is Indiana (unless you count Canada - former friend of mine used to live up in Ottawa) and I have other friends who do live out east and they routinely mention traffic horrors. O.o; (Case in point: New Jersey. I'd be happy to visit it, but I don't dare drive there on my own as I'd surely get run over.)
I think maybe it's just a combination of desire to have my own place + nostalgia + dread of upcoming winter. There are definitely people up here I'd miss if I had to be away from them for too long.
I would like to visit the Keys someday. LOL yeah, a lot of Florida IS a big Jimmy Buffett fantasy, but that's just par for the course IMO.
Unfortunately, no. I could probably get my old grocery store job back, but then again, I don't know how much management may have changed since last I was there. And I'd still need a place to live that would let me have all my pets.
In any case, it may be that I'll just have to wait it out here for the time being. *shrug* I'm just not wild about dealing with another stupid winter, especially if it gets as craptastic as what the Farmers' Almanac suggests... *shudder*
I've been mostly out-of-commission due to the divorce, but its finally over, I've moved to Seattle area, and am pushing forward. Finally writing more in LJ as well.
Glad to hear you're alive. Missed you!
And YES on the tactics of retail to harass you into quitting. The last straw for me was when they gave me only 4 hours a week, even though I was sorely needed and they were understaffed. Fuckers.

Is there anyone in Florida you can contact that can help you find employment and cheap housing?
