As of February 2008, i've applied to over 50 jobs in the hopes of finding one before i graduated in May. As of now, i have gotten only 4 interviews (all of which i have blown) and several rejections. I feel so stupid for not having more work experience. I became too dependent on my stocks that were given to me by my grandparents, most of which were ( Read more... )

you know what... i was in the same boat! laid off in april, coudln't find a new job, finally found one that was only commission, and the head GM didn't want to officially hire me so I quit... then looking forever for a job... i don't really have any experience either... I'm now working seasonally at Proflowers... just started training, so far I really like it but yeah it pays really little and I'm not guaranteed 40 hours a week... and I would rather die than move back in with my parents! haha. yeah........ it sucks!

You are SO not alone! At least, among the many people who find themselves needed to get a job that have -nothing- to do with their college degree... but sometimes you have to do what you must, and hopefully build your way up. You're still young!

I've luckily found myself at a job where I can work with animals, though it doesn't leave much room for my art. I may now end up becoming an actually Tech assistant with enough training, which should pay better... but it's still not art related!

So yeah, in short.. with the bad economy and shit, having money is probably more important than worrying about where it comes from. But that doesn't mean you can't find ways to work towards getting a more meaningful job in the future.. have you thought about doing volunteering? I'm not really sure what would help in your field... but might be something to look into... Anyways! I've gone and rambled on.. Hope we can hang out again soon some time!

hehe thanks Jenny =) I have started to look into some volunteering. Plus i'm being forced to take a self-assessment course at De Anza, thought i was finally DONE with school =P Hate hate HATE being told what to do, i'm very stubborn hehe And i'd love to hang out with you again, i'm gonna be in the San Jose area for at least 5-6 months. You'd help me keep my sanity hehe
