one less cat in the household

Jun 20, 2010 09:49

Yesterday, Matthew & I took Monica, our 11 year old Russian Blue, to be euthanized. She hadn't been eating or playing or demanding affection for about a week. She made it clear that she was ready to move on, and we respected her choice.

She wasn't my favorite cat, but she was a part of my life and I miss her.

We have a BBQ in the early afternoon on Sat. We should be done by 6 or so. Sun is wide open. Let us know. Schedule is kind of flexible right now.

Matthew & I are both working Sunday, so we'll be in the area, we could stop by after work, about 6ish?

Wylie was concerned for that full week before we took her to the vet, following her around but not trying to play. He's still wandering around the house at night, trying to find her. But I think he'll be ok as an only cat for a while.

Hugs from all of us. It is hard to let them go even when it's clear that it is time.
