I think you and I should road trip to where they live, go to one of their picketings, park in front of them, get out of the car, make out and dry hump on the hood, and then I'll bend over and you can spank me why I scream out "Oh my fucking God."
That's really strange. I can't relate to any of the people in that family, really, not at all. Something doesn't seem very human about them. Just about everything I wanted to say to the Phelps family was said by Louise Theroux. He did a great job.
Also Fred Phelps is a very angry seeming man, like Louise mentioned. I imagine much, if not all of that families "devoutness" is fueled by anger that people won't accept/listen to them. Also I see connections to Scientology, in that it's founder was also angry (at psychologists etc.)
That scared me, but at the same time, it didn't surprise me. Those families just seemed so... I don't know, something was missing with them. Their hate was so deep and intense. But like... After watching them, their actions just stopped surprising me, I don't know if that makes sense. They just seemed so predictable. And pathetic.
The stuff they say is so stupid it would be funny under other circumstances. But not only is it stupid, it's just wrong. Like the things they use to back up their ideas actually weaken their arguement.
Exactly. I thought it almost funny when she attempted to back up the statement "Fags eat poop." But it wasn't funny because she was serious, making it scary.
and after watching all of them, it's really just sad. like i feel like crying after seeing that. it's basically just an old, hateful, angry man ashamed about something who feels both wronged and superior spreading his message and corrupting everyone around him and ruining his children and grandchildren's lives.

I think it's pathetic only that they won't think for themselves. There are some good things about them.
Of course I really do not agree.
