YES. It's freakin' maddening.

AND THEN, it's not even about HER BEING RAPED, it's about how it was, like, payback for one of the MALE superheroes. Or a tool to get her together with Superman or Batman or whatever. And while I admit to shipping Wonder Woman & Batman, JUST NO.

The rapefic doesn't surprise me. You put up some good reason for why it's illogical, but that's sort of what fandom and fic is for, no? (Not justifying it, just saying I get why there's probably so much of it. It's because it couldn't REALLY happen.)

True. Maybe worse: the fact that these stories are likely written by women. But that also makes sense to me, as dudes like Supes and Bats have pretty much run the gauntlet on angst --- what more can we writers do do to F-them up? Emotional angst!

Yes and yes. Damn, why are female fanfic writers so OKAY with raping their favorite characters? And why does this event happening to WW end up ALL ABOUT THE BOYS?!

Furthermore, the Amazons were the SOULS OF WOMEN raped/murdered/wronged in antiquity & reincarnated on Themyscira by the Goddesses in strong, immortal bodies so THEY WOULD NEVER BE HURT AGAIN. So let's destroy all that to give the boys some angst. ARBLEGARBLE.
