It's set directly before Stephen starts. 1200 words.

OMG you wrote this!!! So thrilled with it, too - this glimpse through Brad's eyes, seeing how Kris' kidnapping and the subsequent hunt has affected Adam, Brad's fear that this time Adam won't be able to get over it (thankfully we know this will indeed be the last lead Adam has to chase). You know I've been dying for a Brad POV prequel, and this exactly the sort of thing I had in mind! I'm so glad the muse struck here for you today :)

Now I just might have to go reread Stephen...

I liked the idea of looking at the moment right before, when as a reader you can know that the next step will be the one they've waited for. I think it does an interesting thing to the angst dynamic. I'm glad you liked it.
