[ He'd kind of expected joining back up with the government would take him further. Further from Sunnydale. Further from Buffy. But, there there memories were, flooding back as he made his way through the town. Supposedly, there was a small group of Vinji demons who'd found their way to California. Not as hot and dry as the deserts they usually preferred, but apparently it was hard to ignore the siren song of In-n-Out.
He's in the bar for information. Shaking down a demon with his hat brim pulled down low and a trenchcoat on in the corner of the dingy hole in the wall when the raucous starts. Some girl. Blonde. And for a minute he's sure -- But, no. It's not her. Doesn't stop him from getting to his feet, ready to deck the guys responsible. Except he figures out real quick that she's got it under control.
No wonder he almost mistook her for her.
He stops short, then when she starts getting more wild, he takes it upon himself to drag the other guys away from her, shoving them back and getting her some air. ]

She takes a second to catch her breath, and reaches up to brush hair out of her face. She wants to glare at the guy, but knowing that he means well gets her to calm down enough to not punch him on top of everyone else she's already hit.
