Thanks. This was based on my own experience with the beginnings of Alzheimer's in my own grandfather. I was nervous that it wasn't clear what was happening at the end, I'm glad you got it. I'm sorry to hear about your great grandmother, I know how that feels. :)
This is a very heart-wrenching take on the prompt. Nice work. Are you new here? If you are, welcome! (If not, forgive me. I did not have the opportunity to read much in May, so it could be your second month for all I know...) Nice work.
I am late for an appt so I will comment more later but I just have to say...this is beautiful. Both of my deceased grandparents had Alzheimer's before they died and now my grandmother is descending into that world, we are losing her before...before she is really gone.
For them, the past does blur, melting into the present, obsuring those right in front of them, trying to love them.
This was beautiful and makes me hope again to get enough together to go see my grandparents in July. We lose grandma one blurry memory at a time and I want to see Grandpa while he is still more himself.
A slow losing..but they do seem to get joy from their memories.
I'll try to be more specific to your story later..I better run..
Oh, I hope you weren't too late for your appointment! ^_^; Thanks for taking the time to read. I do hope you get to go see your grandparents; sometimes, all you need is a little more time spent with your loved ones to feel just a little more at ease about their lives and selves slowly fading. Even if it's just feeling that way for a little while, it's better than nothing. :)

D: ! That was really sad. :( But for some reason I still thought it was really endearing and sweet.
Good luck!

Yeah, on my dad's side, and I don't talk about it that much. And it's usually not a topic often brought up anyway.
(-is totally feeling you on that xD-)
