I found out yesterday that I'll be going to Amsterdam next quarter. I'm very excited.

Now's the trick of finding a place to live. :) I've emailed a bunch of people. Prospects look good.

I passed my 4th quarter review, I'm go for quarter away and internships. That was a good feeling.

You cannot go to the beach and expect to get any worthwhile work done. Sure you can think and pretend to write something, but all you are really doing is soaking up the sun and the great breeze, and watching the hot surfer boys get hit on by thinner tanner (ahem younger) versions of yourself.
