Oh my goodness gracious. Poor Elaine, poor Amy, poor family. In your shoes, I'd be just as teary as you are. Is there anything I can do?

Well, she said if it's not cystic fibrosis (which I start to think it's not), that it's her pancreas. And you had some pancreas problems, right? If you feel comfortable with letting me know about it, I would appreciate it. Like, was it an enzyme problem, or something else?

No, I had spleen surgery a few years ago, but that was from a cyst. And then Jake has a blood disorder where his cells are the wrong shape and his spleen didn't recognize them so he actually had his spleen removed when he was two. He had plenty of problems as a baby, but I don't think low weight was among them.

I'm glad to hear that it's probably not cystic fibrosis though, I hope it's something easy to deal with once they know what it is.
