Mom's visit is almost over and as much as I love her I am very much looking forward to having my house and time back. We were very busy, Got most of the shopping for Ian done. We went to Target today. It was insane. People everywhere. conspicuously consuming. We bought a new star for the tree and a couple new sets lights. I put lights up in the windows for Ian and he is thrilled. I hate this time of year. I have no money, no time and so much to do. Mom's coming up next weekend which will only make it worse.

Thanksgiving was sooooo nice. Quiet, delicious dinner with easy going friends. Pizza for Ian, filet mignon, garlicky spinach and potatoes for the grownups, no rules, no relatives except by phone and really nice wine. I may never be willing to do the traditional family thing again ( Read more... )

My son has composed a song to me - because I'm the best! This was after spending an entire day with me doing absolutely nothing special. Ian went out with Jen and Chris so I got to spend the day alone with the t.v. and laptop. It was lovely. It's been kind of a hard week, very tiring emotionally. Work is tense and incredibly busy. I'm very much looking forward to Wednesday at 3.
