that's basically how i live my life. i surf the internet, read a book, watch tv, chat, clean, cook, paint my nails, anything to get out of doing whatever i should be doing.

I've never heard that term. I always just say that I'm procrastinating because, well, I am. I've become quite good at it too.

I often surf the intertubes, peruse bad websites where I can get lost in comment wars between members. That's the best time waster I've found thus far, or at least when I'm at work.

flicking? hm. yeah i've heard that term before, but the meaning is kinda different from what i've known ;)

Yeah, I've heard 'flick off' to mean female masturbation....

I tend to use 'shirking' and if I'm doing many things, none of which are related to the task at hand, I'm 'multishirking'.

Was that 'classic example of flicking' from the movie "Real Genius" by any chance? I vaguely remember something like that plotline going on...

Very good! Well, it's not exactly what they do - they divert the beam into a laser show to advertise their swim party (indoors of course) with the girls from cosmetology school. I love that movie, and am told it's a spot-on description of life at that very same technical school...

Your stock just went up even further!
