Stevie really did get shitfaced that night after a mild breakdown in front of the TV (or rather trying hard to keep away from the TV). The rest is pretty much crack.
Oh. My. God. I love this more with every chapter and I can't wait for when something finally happens between them! Has anyone ever told you that you're a horrible tease?
You said you wanted to kiss me. But not like Raúl would kiss me, you were pretty clear on that... "snog you senseless" was the exact expression.
AAHAHA I can just imagine this so vividly, I can actually hear him say it :D Beautiful.
Why thank you. I hear voices too, who says we need therapy... This is the best way to get rid of them. ;)
I have to impose some discipline on myself so each chapter is posted after I've finished either writing or at least structuring the next one. Things will... happen soon enough.
This chapter in a way goes straight to my sappy heart...with simple details like a slightly desperate call in the middle of the night, a confesion of a father more than scared to have to participate in the torture of a innocent child (HATE THE DENTIST WITH SO MUCH PASSION) and then you add the memories, confessions of a drunk captain -with a slightly crush on his midfielder partner- to his midfielder partner...Now i'm rambling!
You said you wanted to kiss me. But not like Raúl would kiss me, you were pretty clear on that... "snog you senseless" was the exact expression. How sexy is this?? Christ!!!
To be honest, I'm a little nervous for when "something happens between them", for reasons not all entirely clear to me, one of them certainly being a pang of jealousy! ;) I have trust that you'll give it justice though, so I'm looking forward to see my own reaction. One thing I definitely liked here is how Xabi regreted brushing Stevie off over the phone the moment he did and yet without recognizing the regret for what it was. You definitely have a way of capturing the complex emotions that we don't even have names for. Because what is yearning, confusion and apprehension rolled into one? I don't know, I see that neither of them knows either. Until the booze removes the inhibitions, that is. ;) I think Stevie knows what he would have said even if he doesn't remember, huh

I'm sure future!Xabi's taste in perfume have evolved... ;)

That's a huge compliment for someone who's kind of emotionally handicapped, but I don't know... maybe it helps. Stevie definitely knows what he doesn't remember...
Forgot to tell you how much I'm impressed with the composition of this chapter being records of two phone calls - each somewhat disjointed, barely scratching the surface (although admittedly the "present day" one having a mood a bit more conscious, knowing), filled with vague (or not so) longing for the real connection. Brilliant!
