Yesterday Steve played hooky and we took a train or two into Osaka to see the castle.  Once again, the castle grounds were huge and my feet started to swell by the end of the day.  And it was hot as hell, I think I got pretty cranky by dinner time.

Well yesterday I took the city loop bus to tour the city.  You know that sort of confused face that you often see in foreign visitors?  It almost looks like a naive look?  I imagine that I look like that.  I have a tendency to get lost and I have a fear of that.  But despite a couple of confusing incidents, I managed to get around okay.  It helps ( Read more... )

 Tomorrow the conference has arranged a trip for everyone on their way to Kobe.  We will be going to Nara Park once again.  This time we get to see the Dai Butsu, one of the largest statues of Buddha in the world.  I can't remember if this is the largest in Japan or if the one in Kamakura is larger.  We also get to see some famous temples that we ( Read more... )

My feet ache from all the walking and traveling.  I have some blisters along the straps of my shoes.  That's a bummer because I specifically chose them for their comfort and the fact that they are cool but strappy flip flops.  So I'm taking the morning to stretch and chill out and do online type of stuff.

was quite hot.  But worse, it was humid and I'm not used to that anymore.  The heat actually wasn't that bad, but it was very sticky.  I just don't have the stamina for that kind of climate.  It's quite exhausting.  Despite that I had a very good time.

A few days ago a ghost appeared to me.  Actually it was a kitty cat, orphaned.  It came into our yard, but simply would not come anywhere near us.  It was just so beautiful that we decided to leave it some water and tuna.  That night it just sort of hung out at our back door, a sliding screen door.
