At last
Had a successful first meeting of my veggie playgroup. I found two vegetarian moms through API and one of them brought a vegetarian friend who has a kid. Ansel wasn't feeling social and he was napping in the Ergo for most of the event, but I feel so happy from the good company. Macneil passed his defense yesterday, yay! His sister, dad, and stepmom are here visiting and Ansel is just loving the extra family fun. Tomorrow we'll be going to commencement ( Read more... ) -
Ansel loves the May
Today I had to take May Kitty to the vet to get another shot for her IBS, so we got her carrier out and Mac chased her for a minute, caught her, and wrapped a towel around her so we could get her in there. Ansel became very alarmed and started to scream out and crawl toward us as we got the May into the carrier. Mac aptly described it as Ansel ( Read more... ) -
General Update
So, May Kitty's abdominal ultrasound results were better than expected. It seems that she doesn't have cancer or any other infiltration of the intestines. The vet was pretty sure from what she saw that May just has IBS. They gave her a shot of prednisone and said that we can just bring her back for another shot if her symptoms come back. May Update
May's blood tests all came back fine. No kidney, liver, or thyroid problems. So, they didn't find anything. We have to feed her rice mashed with chicken (gross, but at least it's not stinky tuna!) and give her medicine (Flagyl) and this weird gel stuff. I'm glad her major organs are not on the outs but I sure wish we had some kind of answer for ( Read more... ) -

Yay yoga, and other little updates
I have been meaning to do yoga twice a week ever since I started going again, but that just wasn't happening. Until this week! I went Thursday and again yesterday. It's so significant how much good it does me. Maybe in a few more months I will be going three times a week? We'll see. I made my own vegan kefir! Oh yum.
Also, I spend a lot of time on Facebook lately, if anyone would like to friend up over there. I'm not abandoning LJ at all, I just don't have much time to post lately. Hopefully sometime, though.

Pearly Whites
It's official. Ansel was chomping on my fingers tonight and I felt the edge of a tooth. I got a quick look and, yes indeed, there is a little tooth poking through. I thought he'd get a top tooth first because there is a visible curve to the gum there in the shape of a tooth, but the one I found tonight was on the bottom.
