the moon ciphons away
   colours given by the sun
letting starlight bewitch you
   and lead you into new dreams
the rose pales as petals fall
   the transient beauty of that which only covers

the perfect definition
    of a fresh rose blossom
but the colours have drained away
    from the heart carved of ice
