Yosemite
One of the few campsites to have cell signal, well maybe I spoke too soon. Trip has been flying by so far, got pissed off at some park rangers for marking up some trash left by previous occupants. Tarp is at least very useful, campsite is covered with snow. Tomorrow is San Fran for 2 days, it'll be good to have a real bed and showers in the morning ( Read more... ) -
Sequoia
We got to see some big red(standing by) trees today driving next to cliffs, and with large drop-offs. My ears hate me for altitude changes, which might be expected. It's kinda cold and damp here at the campsite, but there are free showers, so I'll probably hit that up in the morning. probably not many picture uploads til we hit San Fran and get ( Read more... ) -
More camping and national parks
So it seems like we're stopped in one place that has cell coverage between parks, being out of warmth of death valley and into the recently snowed on sequoia forest. Oh the chilling anticipation. -
Death Valley
We're about to head off to go camping in Death Valley, about a 6 hour drive from where we are now. Things should look pretty warm for the first day of camping, but not too warm, about 72 going down to 50s at night. There will be opportunities to get really cold the next few days in sequoia and yosemite. -
The Grand Canyon
After a bit, the snow settled and we were able to see some of the canyon, which was pretty awesome, especially all covered in snow like that. Got some dinner and finally got to a hotel....going to need to find my firewire cable, which is eluding me right now, so I guess no videos tonight, but there are some decent pics from my phone I can upload ( Read more... ) -
Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon
We got to the Hoover Dam(no spies allowed) and then on the way to the grand canyon it started snowing, and it hasn't stopped yet. we're going to hang around a bit to see if we'll get a view, but so far not much can be seen of the other side of the canyon. -
Leaving Vegas
We're eating breakfast in Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville, which is kinda humorous before we leave for the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon. The trip to vegas was short, but just long enough it seems. We're on to less flattering accomidations. -
Ohh sony...
I came across something today that I'd forgotten about for a while. The sony ux180. A device truely ahead of it's time, a portable computer for people with edge, wifi and bluetooth. Now I'm thinking about sony and how they've totally just had some amazing ideas that totally flop because it's too costly for people to be interested. I guess they ( Read more... ) -
Vacation, what what?
For the first time in a while, I get to go somewhere away from the east coast and relax, well hopefully relax. That's at least the goal of next week. Hopefully I'll get some awesome video shot(note to self, post videos from robot online somewhere) and get some crazy photos taken with a cool new camera(not mine).
