Life is funny in it's own little way. Here's something maybe only I think is funny. I spilled some coffee on myself today, and instead of swearing, I noticed it was beading up and as I was cleaning it, I realized I was wearing pants that are those stainguard ones(who knew I owned those?) A morning out?
Went to a diner this morning for breakfast with some people. You can never really appreciate good cheap diner food. Coffee was good also, came in those what I can only describe as "Navy" style mugs, which are kinda hourglass shaped? My grandfather used to have a lot of those. Now that was a guy who had a sense of humor. -

Going on a trip
A weekend away from Endicott, hopefully relaxing and uneventful. I get to be off work for a half day also, which is awesome.
I have been trying hard not to buy any new gadgets lately. With how things are and my huge vacation next month I want to make sure I save money on things that don't really matter. I did see a 2 TB NAS yesterday that I really ( Read more... ) -
What would you do with an 80 core cluster?
Optionally, what would you do FOR an 80 core cluster. Would you, sell a kidney? I can't think of any reason other than I'd just want one, which is absolutely horrible in every way, but it's on the order of magnitude of that or a new car, haha.
Anyone have any thoughts on what they'd do with it? -
Fun times and being ill
I had a sick day today, didn't get much done as I was hoping, but that's life I guess. I'm happy about a few things, an awesome pandora playlist, friends and everything. Slowly moving into the new place. It's getting done a few steps at a time, which is ok, I'll have some time to get things done before the weekend I think. -
PSU weekend
I had a great trip to psu this weekend. I was able to help some undergrads with their steps to navigating the crazyness that will be the start of their careers. I came out of there with a few gems of wisdom myself, as most of the men there were in their 30s and 40s and had much of their career behind them. Weekend summary
After a second and more successful trip to PSU...with the first one only halfway accomplished(I forgot my tickets to the game), things went pretty well. I am going to be involved more in the alumni board, which is good, and I got to see quite a few people I hadn't seen in quite some time.

A good weekend trip
I am going to PSU this weekend, which will be awesome. Seeing people I haven't seen in a long time. I think the trick will be not spending a lot of money as I'm still trying to save up to be stupid. Which is an interesting conversation in itself, many people call me crazy for some of my ideas.
