Sad day for vegetarians

If you haven't heard the (main, as far as I'm concerned) Union Square location of Zen Palate has closed, due to "astronomical and non-negotiable" rent increases.

Granted, they have 2 other locations, and they imply that they will re-open in a new "Union Square" location at some point.

But for now, the park just got a little less cool.

The upstairs really was great. Certainly very pretty!

Gobo is excellent. Have yet to try Kate's Place though.

I'm not surprised. The space was huge, of course the rent's going to be high.

I can't say it's a huge loss... I never loved the food.

But I agree with goawayplease -- I hope it's replaced with something cool, and not another nail salon/bank/starbucks/or republican headquarters.
